If You Are in LA Tonight

Go see my good bud Hank give a lecture at The Hammer Museum tonight.  The talk is part of the Aperture West Collaborative Lecture Series.  Hank is the very first recipient of the Aperture West Book Prize, and his monograph, Pitch Blackness is hot off the presses.  The details of the lecture are as follows:

Although he called me at 8:30 this morning, I love Hank dearly.  Hank was one of my first friends at NYU, maybe even the first.  We met the first day of classes fourteen years ago, and we remain close friends today, even though we no longer live in the same city or see each other nearly as often.  There are some friends that you don’t need to see all the time to keep the bond close, and Hank and I always pick up right where we left off (this usually involves me rolling my eyes while Hank pinches my cheeks).  I’m not surprised by Hank’s success.  I always knew he was going to somehow pull it all together, and there is no doubt that now is his time.

Hank, I’m so proud of you….we all are…and Songha would be especially proud.
