Bust Out Your Flux Capacitors

Has anyone else noticed an unprecedented amount of Obama merch out there in the world?  Not that I’m complaining, I just have never seen so many incarnations of t-shirts, bumper stickers, hats, bags, baby clothes, coffee mugs, etc. in response to a politician in my life.  Be sure to watch the first debate this Friday at 9PM Eastern time.  Also, check out Art For Obama (via Conscientious) for a really amazing list of artists, all who have donated work for auction to support Obama, the DNC, and MoveOn.org.  One of those amazing artists is my good buddy, Hank, who is in great company with the likes of Richard Misrach, Katy Grannan, Larry Fink, Todd Hido, Alec Soth, Larry Sultan, and more.  Um, hello.

Update:  In order to abide by FEC regulations, Art for Obama will now be donating all of their proceeds to MoveOn.org.

in no way shape or form am i against obama or pro mccain. However, i just think there is too much politician worship in America. maybe because bush is so bad, but in all honesty Obama has done nothing yet and everyone raves about him being the best thing since sliced bread. There is way too much hero worship when the guy hasn’t done anything as of yet. Politicians are car salesmen, they’ll do and say anything to get your vote. The guy looks great on paper, a lot of politicians do. I guess I’m just jaded about politicians and think that 99% of them are liars. Look at Eliot Spitzer, everyone though he was great…turns out he sleeps with hookers, John Edwards has sex behind his dying wife’s back.

Lets all just chill for a second and hold judgement until he has really done something and made a real difference. not saying can’t or won’t…but just to cool it on the hats and t-shirts for a second. Besides those will be sooooooo 2008 when 2009 rolls in.

I don’t disagree with everything you’re saying, but there are worse people to look up to than Obama.
