Honorable Mentions Make Me Happy

A little late on getting the word out, but whatever.  My book, I Can See For Miles, received an honorable mention in the Photography.Book.Now contest.  I was really excited to hear this news – mostly because it marks one of the first times I have ever been recognized in any way for my personal work.  The book is an edit of 35 images from my multiple trips to Japan.  Every time I look at the book all I can think about is how badly I want to go back to Japan and shoot more.  I am very aware that is an over-photographed place.  I mean, there’s no shortage of cool pictures from Japan.  It’s hard not to shoot something that makes me so happy though.  There are so many bummers in the world right now, sometimes you need to just go where you want to go and do what you want to do.  Right?
